We’re making the absolute best of our virtual summer! 🌈🙌🏽🎨 • For many of our students this summer is the first in 4 years that they are not with us in the studio, and we miss them SO MUCH! However, seeing them at the ice cream drop off, when they pick up their Art Camp Kits, or evening just through photos their parents send has been amazing and helps us feel connected. 💗 • I’m not gonna lie, our virtual summer is going better than I ever imagined! Stay tuned for announcements regarding our plans to reopen late August. 🙌🏽😬🎨👍🏽

Happy Monday, everyone! Today begins another week of virtual Art Camp and this week’s theme is all about the theater! 🎭🩰 • Art in Theater Camp explores art’s role in theater. From stage design to puppets, stage make up to props- art plays a HUGE role in theater! 🎨 • We’ll be sure to share some of the fun things our campers create as the week goes on. If you’re children are in camp this week feel free to tag us in any photos you share! ☺️

We haven’t been giving away many sneak peeks at the contents of our Art Camp Kits, BUT I could not resist showing you guys this project for virtual Art In Theater Camp next week!!! 😍 • A theater stage with working curtains... YES!!! I cannot wait to see all the fun ways our campers build and design their theater stages. Too. Fun. This is just 1 of 8 amazing projects they will take part in. Gah. Art Camp Kits for week one, Fairy+Unicorn Camp, have all been picked up! ✨🌈 Seeing my little campers and their families this week warmed my heart. 🥰 • Monday morning we will embark on our first week of virtual art camp and I’m feeling lots of emotions about it, but mostly I’m just super excited to bring some summer fun, creativity, and joy to our sweet campers! 💗☀️🌈

One spot has opened in our most coveted STREET ART CAMP! 🙌🏽🌈 • This camp was the first to sell out, and for good reason. It’s AMAZING! This summer we’ve partnered with our friends @goosethemarket to spray their delivery truck 🤩 and hope to tag at least one more location downtown. 👍🏽 • If you’ve been waiting to join this camp, here’s your chance! 🥳

Giant coloring sheets inspired by the wonderful @friendsartlab 🌈👍🏽✨ • Coloring is fun, but coloring BIG?! That just screams Line+Form. We like big art and we cannot lie. 😂🎨

We’ve got beds! 🌱🌸☀️Thank you to @uglylittlefarms for building our custom garden beds for the Line+Form Community Art Garden and outdoor class space! Don’t you just love those built in benches?!🌈 • Kayla has been such a dream to work with and I am incredibly grateful for all of her help and expertise with this project. 🌱 • Slowly but surely our vision is coming to life. Next up, DIRT! #letsgrowtogether 🌸🥬🥕

Storytime! 📖 Right before we closed our doors in March, Line+Form was about to embark on a reeeally big, reeeeally exciting project. Two awesome, women-owned, small businesses here in Indy, @uglylittlefarms and @latinasweldingguild, were going to help take L+F to the next level by building something AMAZING onto our physical space. Those plans were halted abruptly at the onset of the Covid-19 outbreak. 🤦🏼‍♀️ • An outdoor gathering space and classroom, that we like to refer to as the Line+Form Community Art Garden, has always been our plan since moving the studio downtown. The paved lot to the south of the studio just BEGS to be an outdoor classroom and gathering space for community events. To the north of the building sits the most perfect stretch of land for a teaching garden and classroom where we’d be able to bring back classes like Art+Nature, eco-dyeing with things this kids have grown themselves! I’m here to say we have NOT given up on this dream. ✨✨✨ • Last night I submitted an application for an amazing grant opportunity through @centerforcraft that would allow us to complete this collaborative community project. It would allow us to create an open air class space so that we can return to classes this fall in a safe manner. It would give Line+Form a fighting chance to make it out of this pandemic and provide us with a beautiful space in which we can all GATHER as a community once it’s safe to be together again. 💗 • If you have a moment, please send a little love into the universe for us. This grant would mean everything to Line+Form right now and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity. We aren’t giving up without a fight! 💪🏽

My brilliant friend Catalina (@redvioletstudio) came up with the coolest cooking provocation for her boys the other day, and I couldn’t wait to try it with Ella! 🍪 • Catalina set out 6 balls of cookie dough for her boys with a variety of toppings, invited them to create their own unique flavor combinations, and then judged them on creativity, appearance, and taste! 🍪 • Ella has been on a major cooking kick thanks to rewatching the Just Add Magic series, and was so excited about this activity! The topping choices we provided her with were granola, almond slivers, brown sugar, cinnamon, walnuts, chocolate chips, white chocolate nibs, coffee, Nutella, and Oreos-and they all turned out so tasty! 🍪 • It was a tough call in the end but the overall winner was a cookie called Unicorn Paradise, a very fitting name for a such a delicious treat. I can’t recommend this fun and creative cooking activity enough! Be sure to follow Catalina over at @redvioletstudio for more amazing ideas! 💗
