Celestial Punch Needle Workshop

Join illustrator Candice Hartsough of Cordial Kitten for Celestial Punch Needle! Maybe you’ve heard of punch needle before but you aren’t quite sure what it is. This class will take you through the basics from start to finish.

You’ll learn how to use a punch needle, work with embroidery floss to build up colorful loops and texture, and get comfortable stabbing something hundreds and hundreds of times until it turns into something very cute.

You will make one small 4” diameter celestial medallion which you can then turn into either a wall hanging, a cute coaster for your coffee, or a (admittedly large) brooch. No previous punch needle or fiber art experience is necessary! All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a finished piece and the basic skills to keep punching your way into the stars! 

This punch needle workshop will take place in the Line+Form Classroom located within the Contemporary Art Museum of Indianapolis, 1125 Cruft Street 46203.
